Using these parameters on a 300x300 white gif background at _Draw_
scallop 1: +0+0 +37.5+40 +75+0
scallop 2: +75+0 +112.5+40 +150+0
scallop 3: +150+0 +187.5+40 +225+0
scallop 4: +225+0 +262.5+40 +300+0
1. choose _bezier_
2. _none_ fill color, _choice of stroke color_, _stroke width = 1_
Using the parameter numbers above, draw the 4 scallops across the top of the gif: Go to _Transform_ and choose _flip_ Draw the 2nd row of scallops using the same parameters, then: Transform, _rotate right_ Draw the 3rd set of scallops, then: Transform, _flip_ Draw the 4th row of scallops
Go to output and save this template to your server. Now the fun begins!
Now that you have the template made, you can either make your own of these, or use my templates to do the other steps to make the frame. You will see from the templates what areas you need to transparentize, then I always run a white background gif through the template using _in_ and _tile across and down_ to make a neater edge.
1. just scallops: template 2 2. inner edging scallops: template 3 3. template with inner rectangle: template 4 4. template optional if you want to run a background over this area instead of using _paint_ template 5
Putting The Frame Together
Your inner image should be approximately 250x250, have it saved and ready.
1. either run a background over your scallops using _in or atop_ and _tile across and down_, or paint your scallops. _Output_ as a _gif_, next page, click on the image, and using _go to, show last_ you will 'save' the url using _cmd+A, cmd+C_, then using your recent button, go back to the image with the background or painting done
2. go to _Comp_, erase the background url (if used) and type in the url for the _template 3_ comp it _center using _over_. Click the Comp TAB and now you either run a background over the edging, using _atop or in_, _tile across and down_ or paint the edging. Click the Comp TAB again, and erase the url of the background and using your CMD+V paste the url you saved in the slot. Now you have the 2 layers. Go to Output and do the same step to save this second url. Use Recents key to go back to the image.
3. Now you will add the 3rd template with the rectangle in the middle. Using the same erase, type in method, add the 3rd template, then go back to Comp TAB and put your image in the rectangle using _atop_. Now is when you paint the inner area, or if you want to have a background for that area, comp the template 5 gif you prepared on. We want to draw the edging on the inner rectangle now with these parameters.
Draw, round rectangle, +37.5+37.5 +260+260 +30+30 _none_ fill color, _choice of stroke color_ _stroke width choice_ I used 2.
4. Add the 2 layered image url you made, using _over_.
5. Now add a frame at decorate or whatever else you want to do with your image. Output as jpg, true color, quality 45 or above.
And that's all there is to it!
