MCRD SAN DIEGO, CA

I got there November 6, 1968. I was in Platoon 1122. In quonset huts. God bless 'em. We were called "Hollywood Marines."

These are the foot prints you guys stood in at Parris Island, S.C.. San Diego also had foot prints.
I went to school at Monfort Point, Camp Lejuene, N.C. in early 1969. Then off to: CHU LAI, RVN

Airiel View of CHU LAI

Remember the hooches?
The air base at Chu Lai, RVN. First assigned to H&MS-13 (Awaiting Parts), then assigned to VMFA-232 (expeditor).

When I was with VMFA-232, the "Red Devils", they had F4B Phantom jets. This picture is of a bird, F4J, in 1977 in Iwakuni, Japan. This is the only pic I have found showing a VMFA-232 Phantom.

Here I am in Chu Lai, 1969.
