TOULON, FRANCE

I think this city is in southwestern France, on the Mediterranean.

The Romans made it a naval base because of its harbor. Still is. A naval base that is, the Romans are not involved. The city was bombed heavily during WW II.

It's now a resort town.

Toulon is used often in crossword puzzles when they want you to answer something in french, like "48 DOWN:"to be" in Toulon."

I've never been there. France is not "my style."
