Tibet, China

I think they refer to Tibet as "the roof of the world." Entirely in the Himalayas, the average elevation is 12,000 feet.

Many people wish that Tibet would someday become an independant country again. Annexed by China in 1949, the people revolted in 1959 which led to the Dalai Lama, their spiritual leader, being exiled to India where he is today.

At present there are more ethnic chinese living in Tibet, than there are Tibetins.

I bet you could get drunk real quick at 12,000 ft.. A six-pack would last a week. But who knows. I've never been there.
