I think many Pot smokers come here.
They find it in the northern Carribean, it's the largest of three islands, which are named "The Great Antilles." Not to be confused with the "Lesser Great Antilles."
This island paradise is called "Jamaica." Which is the name given it by the original Arawak people, and means "Land of Wood and Water."
The Arawak natives were lucky enough to meet "Our Guy" Christopher Columbus in 1494. That was pretty much the end of the Arawak.
The Spanish stayed until the British invaded them in 1655. The Brit's planted cotton, tobacco, and then SUGAR.
In the late 1800's they had a guy named Marcus Garvey. He figured out that the ex-slaves were Jewish. How he figured this out is a mystery to many.
He prophecized that a great King would be born in Africa. When Hallie Salasse became King in Ethiopia, Garvey's followers, called Rastafarians, figured out that the King in Ethiopia fulfilled Garvey's prophecy. How they figured that out was a mystery even to Marcus Garvey, who did not even like Salasse.
Rastafarians wear their hair in "dreads" and smoke "Pot" constantly. There is wide consensus that it is the smoking of large quantities of Marijuana which may have led them to their revelations.
That's what I hear. I've never been there.
