I think this city of 465,000 is found at the mouth of the Vistula river at the Baltic Sea.
The German name for this city is danzig.
Shipbuilding is the cities lifeline.
The University of Gdansk was founded in 1970, which makes you wonder what they were doing in the higher education field before 1970.....makes you wonder.
I don't think I'll ever go to Poland. I can't think of a reason why I would!
But here again, I've never been there.
