It's time for everyone to meet this year's authors (despite the fact the season is half way over). Maybe you'll learn a little about them, or maybe all you'll learn is that I am as completely insane as you thought I must be. I asked the email question because I send ridiculously long, rambling emails late at night, I leave out words (my mind is ahead of my fingers), and I expect you to answer me yesterday. If you've seen the changes here at the archive it will give you an idea of what my emails are like: sudden thoughts that I *absolutely must* share with the rest of the world.
These little blurbs are in no particular order. I posted them as I recieved them, hence the reason I'm first.

Favorite author:
Jori (http://www.netroenterprises.com/stories/dogtags.html)
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the Virtual Season:
My most favorite would be that sometimes I get to read the stories before the rest of the world. My least favorite thing would be that anxious feeling that my story isn't as good as all the other author's work.
If you're a returning author, why:
Because despite my lack of true talent Jen feels like she has to let me write since I'm doing all the archiving (a time consuming process sometimes). I'm kidding (I hope). I liked doing it last year. It made me stop and look for a story that the show's writers might do and do it with out falling back on shipperness to fill in the holes (most of which I just left gaping wide open).
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails:
Insane, because half the time I type them right before I go to bed and I'm not sure that I ever actually got around to telling the writers what I needed them to know.
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac? Why?
I'd have to say Mac/Webb, because Mojo writes some of the best Webb out there.

some of them are at http://www.shipperarchive.com/ Don't have my own page though.
Favorite fanfic author:
Just one? That's not fair. Can I say Selena and Kim? I think they are both archived at The Rose Garden. And Kim's stuff is also at ExLibris.
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS:
Least: Trying to guess at what the person in front of me was going to write about so there was some continuity. Most: Getting to take the characters where we want them to go, and to develop the personal relationships a little more than the writers have.
If you're a returning author, why:
I had a lot of fun with it last year, even though we couldn't ditch Brumby and Renee. I knew this time would be even better because we would be allowed to deal with a personal relationship between Harm and Mac.
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails?
Are you kidding? These e-mails make me laugh, and anything that can make me laugh is a good thing.
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why?
Bud & Harriet. Because they still seem as much in love now as they did at the beginning. Even though they've had some bad things happen to them, they've held onto each other and their love has matured.

Ahahhaaha... you think I a) am techincally savvy enough to do HTML and b) have enough time to even attempt it? lol. No. HOwever, the wonderful person who runs Under the Covers (love ya Sarah!) is klind enough to put my fic up for which I am eternally grateful.
Favorite fanfic author:
Ooo... favorite author. Well there's a lot.I don't have specific favorites but I have a few who I know will give out quality no matter what. Jen and Sarah to be specific. :)
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS:
Loved doing VS. Got me out of just the smut realm I usually abide within and into some plot which is always fun to write and research.

Real life job when not writing FF: I am a paramedic
Favorite fanfic author: besides myself..haha.. Tracy Mallon
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS:
Most: the fun at trying to pretend to be a real JAG screen writer and testing my writing skills with the other FF authors posting here.
Least: That my episode will only be enjoyed by those on the list
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails? Life drives me crazy enough, so does yahoo so Bree's emails are just normal life
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why? Ugh, I have several other pairings in mind. Most would say (me too) Harriet and Bud because they are so cute and there really isn't another pairing out there unless you say that there is no Harm/Mac pairing at all. SO my answer will be if there was no Harm/Mac relationship at all, that Harm and Mac have never felt more than just friendship and they are looking for love with the partner they are with. So kill me later, I like Harm/Renee, without the Harm brooding over loosing Mac I think that Harm would really be seeking a relationship with her. Take away the Hollywood persona and Renee truly cares for Harm. She might be somewhat overbearing in her wanting him to open up to her but she does get results. Beneath her appearance is a woman who wants to get to the core of Harmon Rabb, wants to really understand him and love him. But please believe me and if you have read my FF then you know that I am a diehard shipper and will be till the end.
Least Favorite: Mac/Mic - why since I above listed Harm/Renee as my fav? I can't stand Mic, he is overbearing and uses Mac's past to his advantage. I think that his manipulation of her is horrible. He is the kind of guy that might not ever physically beat a woman but emotionally does. Mac deserves someone better, and yes as a shipper I want it to be Harm, but Mic would be the catalyst that could set her back to the days before Red Rock and her uncle saving her from herself when she was a teen.

Name: Jen Turner
Email: jugrox@prodigy.net
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: Most, writing the opener and organizing the whole thing. Least, ending up in the hospital and not being able to finish my second one on time; organizing the whole thing.
If you're a returning author, why: Because it was my idea, and it might look bad if I didn't write again.
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails: She doesn't. She reminds me much of myself that way.
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why: If I admit to it being Harm and Renee will you put it here? Because I like Renee, and if I have to watch Mac fawning all over Mic like a lovesick teenager, I at least want Harm to have someone.

Name: Michelle Durgin

Favorite fanfic author: Helen http://www.shipperarchive.com/fanfic/auth_mp/mshdv.html
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: I liked the challenge of trying to stay in character and canon while working within the confines of the show and VS. In fanfic, people make characters do whatever they want them to do and if they happen do it in character that is great, but it is not required, because the justification is that it is fanfic so anything goes. I don't necessarily subscribe to that school of thought, but whatever floats your boat. With the VS, you are trying to be as JAG-like as possible and that can be tough given our natural shipper tendencies and fanfic roots, but it was a good kind of tough. My least favorite thing was the deadline hanging over our heads, but it could not be helped. I understand the necessity of organization and scheduling, but as a born procrastinator and someone unused to writing with someone else, it sure made life stressful.
If you're a returning author, why: Nope...but props to those who are...gluttons...
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails? Not so much crazy, but amused...and grateful that it isn't me trying to pull everything together...Nice work...
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why? Tiner and Gunny...and in the G-rated way...They just play off each other well and aren't a forced comedic element...normally

Name: Pat Steiner
Email: SSbpMN@aol.com
Favorite fanfic author: Anne R. [my writing partner who makes me look good]. But I enjoy the writings of so many others.
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: The challenge, in answer to both. The challenge of writing a shipper story--and my fingers refuse to type anything else--in the context of the VS guidelines, keeping it episode like, that is toning down romance.
If you're a returning author, why: Invited back, enjoyed last year's and had been looking forward to this.
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails? Hey I'm a mother of 3 teenagers. I have infinite patience with anyone and any thing! Besides I'm grateful to Bree for maintaining the archive, something I wouldn't be able to do.
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why? Bud and Harriet. But then there's not much pairing to reflect upon with this show since DB is not big on relationships. And not good with them. But Bud and Harriet for showing that love sees us through any catastrophe.

Name: Sharon Fiennes-Clinton
Email: sfc26@home.com
Favorite fanfic author: Jen Turner, Susan Stroud, and AeroGirl (I don't think any of them have URLs)
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: Getting my mind back in to gear to write a fanfic. It's been a while for me.
If you're a returning author, why: It was a great way to break the monotany of reruns through last summer, so why not this one.
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails?: Not one bit. She makes me laugh and think, which is a fun and scary combination! [eg]
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why?: Don't hit me, throw things that might hit me, or call me names because that can hurt like the other two, but Gunny and Singer. Let me quantify that statement by saying, I can't stand the woman (Singer), but I can see those two together.

Favorite fanfic author: Jori Remington (http://netroenterprises.com/stories/dogtags.html)
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: I don't really have a least favorite thing since I haven't even written my story yet. My favorite thing is reading all the wonderful stories that everyone is coming up with and getting to be a part of it.
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails? I'm already crazy. I didn't need Bree to get me there.
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why? Bud and Harriet. I know that seems very obvious since they're the only stable couple on the show, but it's nice to see someone living a NORMAL life (and as heartbreaking as Sarah's death was, it can happen - it did to my mother, although under slightly different circumstances). In some ways, Bud and Harriet are more mature than Harm and Mac.

Name: Kassia Treleven

Favorite fanfic author: I read (and love) just about everything as long as it's shipper-y. I waste most of my time at http://exlibris.simplenet.com
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: The feedback is great! I can't think of a negative part of writing for the VS. How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails? There were long, crazy, disjointed emails? :) (Kassia volunteered for the VS and had her story posted within a couple of weeks, so she missed the pre-season maddness.)
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why? It would have to be Bud and Harriet because I don't think any of the other main characters really have much of a love life outside of the office, at least not one that interests me...

Name: Selena
Email: gonzo112376@yahoo.com
Favorite fanfic author: Susan :-)
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: Most-challenging yourself to stay true to characters, plot, rules, "cannon," etc. Least-fear of deadlines. ;-)
If you're a returning author, why: Because I was asked to, and I actually had a plot idea.
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails? I enjoy them b/c I, too, like to write long, crazy, disjointed emails.
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why? You mean on this show or on others? If this show, I would have to say Bud/Harriet b/c, well, b/c it's an obvious answer. On other shows, gee...I have stoppped watching other shows. Urg.

Favorite fanfic author: Do I have to pick justone? Can't do it. But if I had to I have to go with Kim...or Helen...or Tracy....or Michelle...or Susan....or TC....(in no particular order) see I really really can't make up my mind.
Most/least favorite thing about participating in the VS: Most favorite thing was actually finishing a story for the first time in a gazillion months....Least favorite....the pressure [grin] just kidding. There nothing I don't like about this experience.
If you're a returning author, why:
Sorry I'm a newbie. I ain't never done this before. Or does that make me a virgin?
How crazy does Bree make you with her long, crazy, disjointed emails? Bree can't drive me crazy...I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old...she's too late...I'm already there.
What is your favorite pairing, other than Harm/Mac and why? Ok this is a toss up. AJ and Mac or Webb and Mac. Mac deserves to have someone love her, just so long as it's not Brumby.

Back to the VS.
