Title: Father's Day
Author: Jen Turner
AN:The first time I saw this episode, I really hated it. But the more I
watch it the more I love it. It has all the elements of what I really
love about JAG, action, drama, shipper moments, hey there was even a
trial in this episode. Call this an enhancement to the dinner scene.

"What do you mean I'm getting too close?" Mac asked Harm. "You're the
king of getting to emotionally involved in your cases."

"Name one," Harm asked. He was good at staying detached from his cases.

"One, how about every case you work? Should I go backwards or forwards
from when we started working together."

"I don't know what you're talking about Mac, I can maintain a
professional distance."

"No, you can't," Mac laughed at him. "Ensign Lane."

"Doesn't count," Harm smiled.

"Why not? Because she ended up standing you up? You know Harm, going
out with a client is tantamount to a breech of ethics."

"Okay, you win, so I tend to get a little too involved with my cases.
Sue me."

"Nah, it would be more fun to just defend you. Besides your protective
side is one of your more redeeming qualities."

"One of them? What are some of the others?"

"Well, there's...... well I guess that's about the only one that you do
have."

They both cracked up.

"You know, Harm, it is a wonderful quality. You're going to make a
great father one day."

Harm looked at Mac. She looked back at him. Their gazes locked for a
few moments, until Mac saw Harm start to blush.

"What," she asked.

"Nothing." He knew that this wasn't the time or place to go there. But
one day it would be right for both of them.
