I wrote this poem when I
was taking treatment
for my cancer.
A lady at the front desk read
my other poem "Burdens"
She came around the desk and
gave me a big hug

It was early morning
my poem she did read
A stranger she was
I guess a hug was in need

A hug from a stranger
is what she gave
"That was beautiful" she said
for her, one she will save

She touched my heart
I could feel it inside
That hug from a stranger
I knew I was about to cry

My eyes teared up
She said it will be okay
That hug from a stranger
is just what I needed
to start my day

I know not her name
Just knowing she cares
That hug from a stranger
Now a days...are rare
