Penny Steinke of Waukesha, the current World Junior Girls Champion, captured first place in Class A of the Beloit Spring Singles horseshoes tournament this past weekend.

The tournament, which drew 87 pitchers, was hosted by the Beloit Horseshoes Club.

The club's next tournament is the Southern Wisconsin Open Aug. 9-10.
