Beloit club hosts state horseshoe tournaments

John Udelhofen of Barneveld, Wis., teamed with John Crook of Spring Green to capture first place in the championship division of the Wisconsin State Doubles Horseshoes Tournament in Beloit Sunday.

The event was hosted by the Beloit Horseshoes Club.

Saturday, the club hosted the Wisconsin State Club Team Tournament. Class A was won by the team Close Doesn't Count of Centuria, Wis. The Class B title went to the Kenosha Horseshoes Club and the Class C title went to Windy HIll Horseshoes Club of Ringo, Wis. Twenty teams of four pitchers competed.

Sunday's event drew 48 doubles teams. Rob and Tracy Pankhurst of Beloit captured the title in Class E. The winners in the other divisions were:
