My New Friend Barb, lives in PA.....Black Bear Country. :-)
Shortly after meeting her, she told me she was going into the Hospital to have Knee Surgery.
I had read a couple of her stories about the Bears coming into her yard and getting down the Bird Feeders.
I tho't.....I should make her a Sick-Kids Quilt......no sooner had I tho't that, than I ran across this Bear, I had made years ago......he's holding up a tree. :-)
My Quilting Angel was guiding my hand again, I think ! 
Log Cabin Quilts can be set in many many different ways.
One I already made for the Sick-Kids was set in the Lightening Pattern. This one I set in Chain Links.
Some of these pics are on the next roll of film, but after finishing the quilt, I appliqued on the Bear Patch(see below Barb's Note)

YOUR BOX CAME TODAY _____ AND WE ROLLED ON FLOOR WHEN WE SAW THE BLACK BEAR.
OHHHHHH just so precious and will be treasured forever.
I have it laying over the back of our massage chair in the dining/sunroom that is the entrance to our house. SO everyone can see it. That is the only thing we have a black bear on in the house. We have a black bear and baby statue on stand in the same room, so it all goes well together.
