SHORT - CUT





Hi Everybody..
Welcome to a brand new Effect at Image Magick!!
Under the function EFFECTS you will find a new effect called MOTION BLUR.
There have already been ones written on this Effect, each with their own interpretation of how you should use it.
In fact, Princess Pink and myself did one together.

However, working with it more and more and I, myself, am not particularly fond of doing Tutorials with alot of
STEPS, GOING IN AND OUT OF IMAGE MAGICK , HAVING TO SAVE URLS, ETC.ETC.
I figured out a way to
SHORTCUT
the steps and achieve the same result.
IN ADDITION
HOW TO USE IT ON GRAPHICS AS A SEMI-BACKGROUND IN YOUR IMAGE
This is really a "2-IN-ONE" explanation, so excuse the length.
Pick your poison..LOL...whatever Tutorial(s) fits your needs. This is just giving you more options and a quicker, easier way to do the basic MOTION BLUR Effect...

For those of you seeing this Function/Effect for the first time,
Bottomline is that it shows your image "In MOTION"
(and now you also have another choice for it's use)
The parameters for using EFFECTS/MOTION BLUR are exactly the same as in Tutorial above...

PARAMETERS= 3 PARTS (NUMBERS)
THE FIRST 2 NUMBERS IN THE PARAMETER INDICATE THE
LENGTH
OF THE TRAIL.
THE 3RD NUMBER GIVES YOU THE DIRECTION OF THE TRAIL, BASED ON A CIRCLE
IE. 360 DEGREES.
(THE PARAMETER CAN THEN BE ANYWHERE FROM 1-359, + OR -

NOTE: FOR WHATEVER REASON, IF YOU USE TOO BIG OF NUMBERS RE: THE LENGTH, IMAGE MAGICK WILL GIVE YOU A POPUP ,,,SO INDICATE WHAT YOU WANT AND YOU WILL HAVE TO SEE IF IT IS WITHIN THE "ALLOWABLE" DISTANCE OR NOT.



SKELETAL FORMULA

TAKE ONLY YOUR GRAPHIC TO IMAGE MAGICK.
(Unless you are doing a FONT then you need to write it on a background...check steps at bottom..)

INPUT
DECORATE BLACK BORDER 100X100 - 150X150 (depending on how much of the Motion Blur trail you want to show and/or are stipulating length of it parameter wise)

EFFECTS/MOTION BLUR= ?X?+?
(parameter explanation above)

OPTIONAL:
DECORATE/COMPOSITE
NOTE: DEPENDING ON WHAT EFFECT YOU CHOOSE HERE, YOU CAN EITHER HAVE YOUR "MOTION BLUR" STAND OUT VISUALLY AGAINST THE BLACK BORDER(background).IE. EXAMPLE#1
OR
YOU CAN USE AN EFFECT TO BLEND THE COLORS INTO WHATEVER COLOR SCHEME YOU CHOOSE TO. IE. EXAMPLES#2,3,4

COMPOSITE/?
(here you can also choose what effect you want to go with.
SUGGESTED COMPOSITES: Over, Multiply, Difference, or whatever else you find that you like)

TRANSFORM/CROP +-?+-?
(Crop off the OPPOSING SIDES of the direction that your Motion Blur is going in)

FINISH UP WHATEVER WAY YOU WISH
(Don't forget to Annotate!!)

OUTPUT
(I am finding that , with this, that sometimes Optimization interferes in the overall quality of finished Image, therefore keep an eye on it. You might be able to get away with the usual suggested Optimization of QUALITY=25. If it looks altered then raise the number of your QUALITY or don't put any number in the box at all, default= 75.)
