" BI-LEVEL TONING"

by
SCARLET

Just playing around today, lookie what I found!!!

INSTANT SPREAD...
AND COLORMAP
or, when added to
"DECORATE / COMPOSITE"
I call it
"BILEVEL" TONING

Below are a series of steps on how I did it and some different examples.

HERE IS WHAT MY IMAGE LOOKS LIKE
WITHOUT
"BILEVEL"

(**If you do not know how to do a "MIRROR"
here are the steps for doing one....
I happened to do it on the example. It has nothing to do with this technique...
)
THE IDEA HERE IS TO SHOW YOU WHAT THE IMAGE LOOKS LIKE,,,,
USING "WAVE", "MIRROR" TECHNIQUE
WITHOUT "BI-LEVEL"

ORIGINAL

TRANSFORM/LEFT ROTATE
F/X WAVE=40X60
TRANSFORM/RIGHT ROTATE
DECORATE 5X5 BLACK BORDER
DECORATE 293X0 BLACK BORDER
TRANSFORM/FLOP
TRANFORM/CROP=+298+0
COMPOSITE/EAST With Original
FINISH UP, ANNOTATE, OUTPUT

TULIP MANIA

NOW WE ARE GOING TO USE
"BI-LEVEL"
ON THIS TO SHOW YOU THE POSSIBILITY OF DIFFERENCES
NOT ONLY USING "BI-LEVEL" BUT
USING "DECORATE/COMPOSITE" WITH (AFTER) "BI-LEVEL"

DO YOUR IMAGE,,,HOWEVER YOU WOULD LIKE TO
OUTPUT IT
**NOTE: WHEN AT OUTPUT WHERE IT SAYS "IMAGE TYPE"
CLICK ON THE DROP-DOWN BOX AND CHOOSE
"BILEVEL"
(do everything else the same as normal)

It looks like a combination of
SPREAD AND COLORMAP
By just selecting "BI-LEVEL" on output.
But ,,,,let's go add color

with "BILEVEL" used

now complete OUTPUT

save URL

CC&P URL, Back up so that you are now back in Studio

then go up to INPUT
(this will take you to beginning again)

put new URL in textbox.

back into the Studio to

DECORATE
(the image should be black and white like above)

"DECORATE/COMPOSITE"
your "BI-LEVELED" Image
(or "DOUBLE DECORATE/COMPOSITE" by finishing ONE CYCLE of "DECORATE/COMPOSITE"
DO NOT OUTPUT
go directly back into "DECORATE"
change one of the parameter variables ie. Color, Compose, Frame, or Border
and do ANOTHER "DECORATE/COMPOSITE")
or you can use HUE or TINT in order to COLOR your Image
then you can do an
"XTREME RAISE/SINK" on your image
or ANYTHING ELSE you may want to

NUMBER 1

Using DECORATE 1X1 NAVY BORDER COMPOSITE=MULTIPLY

NUMBER 2

Using DECORATE 1X1 PURPLE BORDER COMPOSITE=DIFFERENCE

And now it's your turn,,,
HAVE FUN AND LET'S SEE WHAT YOU DID!!!
