Peter Neal has just come out with a new novel called Tenebre and is in Rome promoting it's release when strange and horrifying things begin to happen soon after his arrival from the states. People are being murdered and he is put directly in the middle due to pages of his book being found stuffed in the mouth of a victim and threatening notes being left to him by the killer.
plot:
The
dialect is sometimes English, sometimes Italian. (which I didn't mind cuz I love Italian!)
This is a visual film which gives you that classic Dario
direction which puts you in killer-eye-view. There were more than a few
creepy scenes and one in particular gave me the chills big time! (hint: I
hate dolls!)
The music, although a bit 'groovie' added to the bizzare
feel Deep Red gives off. I won't be buying the soundtrack, but I'm glad I
bought the film!
I highly recommend Deep Red and give it a 5 out of
5.
This movie goes to show why I love Dario Argento!
'Don't play with the devil boy,he will only make the game harder and allot
less fun!'
In the days when voodoo and occult films ran rabid, Angel Heart emerged fresh and new with so many twists and turns that it's hard to ignore such
a beautifully erotic horror film like this.
Mickey Rourke as Harry Angel
shows us that what lies under the skin, isn't always what is real.Gorgeous imagery with a knowledge for era and a haunting soundtrack that sets the
mood guides you into a world of wicked pleasures and into the depths of
your own mortal fears. Erotic,scary,cautionary....don't put your soul out on the table for the devil to tinker with....he loves the challenge and will
punish you for your grandeur. Oh and, never try to up step
him ... naughty,naughty!
A bored housewife with psychological problems gets involved with witchcraft, thinks it works, does some naughty things, then does something very bad. It's not horror, but it is pretty bizarre. Just picture a Stepford Wife on acid!
Some of the details on witchcraft are real, but most of it is just Black magic bull that is put in so that the movie has an 'evil' feel to it. And to think, this is a George A. Romero film! Oh well, Hail to the Cheese!
1 1/2 out of 5 ...no! lol
Set on a train bound for Russia, that is carrying many unsuspecting passengers is headed for a terrifying ride when a crate brought aboard by Lee carries something unspeakable!
Many twists and unwanted turns prevail as the Horror Express roars into a nightmare!
(since I love the classics) 31/2 out of 5
First we have 'Valdemar' with Adrienne Barbeau as a money hungry woman who will stop at nothing to get her terminally ill husband's money ... bad wife! But she gets hers and so does the doctor / boyfriend ..... Directed by the man, George A. Romero
Then we have (my favorite) 'The Black Cat' Directed by the legend, Dario Argento.
This one is a classic in my humble opinion! Anything Mr.Argento does goes beyond the realms of greatness!! Harvey Keitel (check out 'Bad Lieutenant') is not the type of artist you'd like to know personally! Just look what he does to his poor, poor wife and her cat! Good story, great ending.
4 out of 5 (because I love Dario Argento!!)
Based on a true story about a single mother of three that is stalked and raped repeatedly by a poltergeist it is one of the most horrifying movies I've ever seen.
What this woman goes through is both hellish and dynamic, yet she finds the courage to face it and fight it with what strength she has left. The ending makes my skin crawl and i refuse to watch this alone.
I give it a 31/2 out of 5 because this film not only makes me scared, but it makes me think ... could something like this happen to me?
For a cheesy 80's horror film, this one actually has some decent acting and of course, good direction.
3 out of 5
Gruesome scenes of death along with a mind bender of an ending, makes Tenebre a must see film for Dario Argento fans or for those of you who just like their movies with some bizarre twists and alot suspense.
5 out of 5
Made in 2000,(can you believe it!) w/English and Japanese subs, the sound and quality are pretty good considering it's a copy. Japan is doing on helluva job keeping the horror genre from completely dying out on us.
You can just tell that the folks who made this were highly influenced by Fulci and I must say that he would be very proud!
In come 4 unfortunate jewel thieves,Saki,Akira,Jun and Kabu who after making the perfect score, must meet up with a shady character named Ramon to sell the goods...where? At the factory where the doctor has made the biggest mistake of his life!
Things really get bad for everyone involved when one of Ramon's machine gun wielding goons shoots up an entire supply of DNX which just so happens to splatter all over dozens of dead bodies!
I give 'Junk' a big 5 out of 5
