British Butler Table

British Butler Table Butler Table and Trays I’ve never visited the Khyber Pass in Afghanistan. The name rings of countless battles, from Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan to the colonial armies of Queen Victoria, Empress of India. The Brits didn’t want to campaign without being able to enjoy their afternoon tea, and loved to bag a tiger or two between battles. To keep at least a semblance of home-sweet-home comfort, the pack train (mules, camels, elephants and the like) carried campaign furniture for officers and staff. It was made of solid mahogany or rosewood with indestructible brass hardware. It all sounds quaint, but is really not much different than the recent transportation of open-air cinemas to the US Army. It doesn’t look like the Khyber pass will welcome tourists like me anytime soon, so allow me to compensate with pure and true replicas of the furniture which made life worth living back then.
