It was up a sandy path, a roof just visible over the low topped dune, a simple Cape Cod classic, but what a location! Endless beaches at the doorstep. Pounding surf, wind and water; perfect antidotes to worries and stress... Simply furnished, it was the most charming beach house we had ever rented. No need to invent occupational therapies for the children. Sand and water, buckets and spades, low tide and high tide, that was all they needed. As for us we walked, sunned, emptied bottles of chilled Chablis with lobster, fresh oysters and friends. We slept ten hours each day. Shopping for antiques nearby, we bought two old rowboat models. One went home, one was left on the cabin’s windowsill. We just wanted to leave our presence…
