Biographical Notes

Born in Port au Port East, Sean Kenny moved with his parents and eight brothers and sisters to Toronto in 1976 when he was fourteen. He always held on to his Newfoundland roots, and is particularly fond of traditional Newfoundland and Irish music. He started writing his own songs as a way to stay awake after working the night shift at Bell Canada and taking care of his kids during the day. At age 44 Sean got his first guitar and has continued writing his songs. He still lives in Toronto where he is a city bus driver.
