At age four, his father, also a player, put an accordion in his hands, and Mark never looked back. He performed for several years on the tour schooner Scademia, and currently performs and records with both Shanneyganock and The Government Rams. A multi-instrumentalist who plays accordion, mandolin, bouzouki, banjo, guitar, and sings, Mark also writes and arranges songs. His lyrics reflect his personal experiences with others and with his island home. In St. John's musical circles Mark has been recognized as a master of the button accordion and a professional folk singer and folk musician since he was a lad in elementary school. |
