Biographical Notes

Born and raised in the south of Ireland, Chris Hennessy worked for several years as an electrician to fund his musical ambitions. Eventually, his talents were recognized and he became a member of the Sons Of Erin whose album of folk songs made them popular in both Ireland and Newfoundland. This gave Chris an opportunity to tour his native country as well as Canada which led him to produce his own album, Ballad Of A Sad Café. He then immigrated to Newfoundland where he established himself as a singer and songwriter, met his wife, and settled into his career of playing, singing, songwriting and producing music. Chris can often be found at O'Reilly's Irish Pub in St John's where he is a resident performer. He frequently appears as a guest artist with other bands and groups on their albums, as well as on Newfoundland compilation albums.
