Yellow Piss Holes In The Snow (Payne/Pilgrim) video

I grew up on stories my grandfather told,
The sound of that ol' rockin' chair,
The smell of the fire from that wood-burning stove,
My first taste of Blue Ribbon beer,
The Northern Lights dancin' way up in the sky,
The castles I built in the snow;
It's hard to believe that ol' memories run,
Way back to a long time ago.

Charlie Butt's corner store burned to the ground,
I can still hear them bottles explode;
Tom married Phoeme, and I ran away,
I was jealous of her, I suppose.
Hopalong Cassidy Saturday Night,
Would find me right in the front row;
Ten cents a shot, compliments of:
Roy Vurree's two traveling shows.

Paint me a picture of ol' memories,
That backtrack a lifetime ago;
Just follow the lines from this pencil of mine,
And them yellow piss holes in the snow.

The fish they were plenty, too many to count,
The waters as blue as the sky;
I snared my first rabbit when I was eleven,
And after I ate it I cried.
People were funny but no one was queer,
And me, I was a son-of-a-gun;
Kids way back then were all devil's kins,
But nobody killed anyone.

Paint me a picture of ol' memories,
That backtrack a lifetime ago;
And follow the lines from this pencil of mine,
And them yellow piss holes in the snow.

[FADING]
I remember the stories my grandfather told,
The sound of that ol' rockin' chair,
The smell of the fire on that wood-burning stove,
My first taste of Blue Ribbon beer,
The Northern Lights dancin' way....
