It's Christmas in the harbour now,
Everybody still comes around;
Such a bustle, such a noise,
All the girls and all the boys.

Well, have you ever seen the like of this,
Before in all your life?
I can almost hear my mama swear,
Thank God, it's only once a year.

Old men drink their bottles dry,
Talk about the times gone by;
The days when they were overseas,
How it stripped their youth away.

The kids today don't understand,
This gift of life we gave to them;
But time is on their side,
And they're gonna be alright.

It's true enough I do suppose,
The times will change, that times will go;
But that's not what's important now,
In time each man will see too soon.

It's Christmas in the harbour now,
Everybody still comes around;
Such a tangle, such a time,
With stories, laughter, songs and wine.

It's Christmas all across the land,
One more year has past and gone;
From St John's to St Mary's Bay,
Bless us all this Christmas Day.
