The Computer Song (Janes/Churchill) video

Not too many years ago, just before my time,
Man perfected telephones, TVs and party lines;
A switchboard operator was there to take your call,
Created much employment -
where hardly none at all.

It used to be that Sundays
we'd gather at the church,
It was a time for families to get away from work;
But nowadays our social life is almost next to none,
Computers taking over - networking has won.

So, if I don't like you, I could just delete you,
Or maybe I will mark you as SPAM;
Or you could become one of my favorites,
If I really like you, because I can.

Computers cannot clean the house
or drive the family car,
I'm sure that time is coming - it's really not that far;
We're getting fat and lazy, and diets are the way,
Times have changed,
the Internet's the order of the day.

So, if I don't like you, I could just delete you,
Or maybe I will mark you as SPAM;
Or you could become one of my favorites,
If I really like you, because I can.

Mom and dad both have to work
to keep up with the toys,
I-Phones are the Christmas gift
for little girls and boys;
We're setting good examples -
the parents are at fault,
Texting at the table - Honey, pass the salt.

So, if I don't like you, I could just delete you,
Or maybe I will mark you as SPAM;
Or you could become one of my favorites,
If I really like you, because I can.

So, if I don't like you, I could just delete you,
Or maybe I will mark you as SPAM;
Or you could become one of my favorites,
If I really like you, because I can.
If I really like you, because I can.
