Life Is Just Not Fair (Bernie Sheaves) video

A wise old man once told me that life is just not fair,
Some folks have everything and they never care,
How their neighbours live, barely getting by,
A quiver in the old man's voice,
as tears filled his eyes.

I stood there and listened to his every word,
I was just a young lad then, but I knew it was true;
Some folks have it all, a mansion and gold,
Poor folks live in a shack,
trying to keep out the cold.

If God above disagrees with this way of life,
He holds all the power,
He controls the days and nights;
Why don't He step in and pass a little around,
Then everyone would be equal
like they are in the ground.

Johnny owned a mansion, had money by the score,
He could buy anything he wanted and more;
His neighbour was a pauper,
his cupboards were always bare,
Why should one man have everything,
to me life's not fair.

Why don't God take a look,
do a little changing around,
Share with the pauper,
he's been down for too long;
Bring a little joy to him while he's here,
Like I said so many times, life is just not fair.

If God above disagrees with this way of life,
He holds all the power,
He controls the days and nights;
Why don't He step in, pass a little around,
Then everyone would be equal
like they are in the ground.

No, I don't care; life is just not fair.
