All Of Our Fish Are Taken Away (Alonzo Glover) video

Turn on the news and what will you hear?
All of our fishermen down in despair;
Their quotas are cut and their fish plants are closed,
They'll burn or destroy all their boats, I suppose.

All the capelin is gone, thanks to Japan,
We can't find a one to put in the pan;
They've taken all the squid, the codfish's food,
Now the money they gave it won't do us no good.

'Cause all of our fish are taken away,
By foreign strangers on our ocean today;
They came from Spain and Portugal,
Norway and Russia and even Mexico.

Let us screw up their tree, whoever you may be,
I wish I had you far out on the sea;
I'd show you some hardships and try our sweet fare,
And you'll know why we anger and why we despair.

You took away our pride and our resources, too,
Newfoundland and Labrador
you shoulda called it Buggers Two.

'Cause all of our fish are taken away,
By foreign strangers on our ocean today;
They came from Spain and Portugal,
Norway and Russia and even Mexico.
From Norway and Russia and even Mexico.
