The Little Green Dory (David Blackmore) video

There's a light in her window burning so bright,
It guides her daddy in the harbour each night;
In the little green dory he works hard all day,
To make a living for his family,
it's the fisherman's way.

Yesterday morning the weather was fine,
He went out the harbour like he does all the time;
Waved to his daughter standing in the door,
They didn't know they would see him no more.

There's a little green dory that didn't come home,
Forever lost on the deep briny foam;
Down by the seaside she sits in his place,
She prays to God with tears on her face.

The other men say he was on his way in,
With a boatload of fish, on his face was a grin;
They couldn't say what had happened that day,
To the little green dory that's not in the bay.

She and her mommy are left all alone,
She knows her daddy is never coming home;
He went to sea and never returned,
With tears on her face for her daddy she yearns.

There's a little green dory that didn't come home,
It's forever lost on the deep briny foam;
Down by the seaside she sits in his place,
She prays to God with tears on her face.

There's a little green dory that didn't come home,
It's forever lost on the deep briny foam;
Down by the seaside she sits in his place,
She prays to God with tears on her face.
