She was swinging on a cupboard door,
Two little feet didn't touch the floor,
She looked up at me; she smiled:
Daddy, where is mommy gone?
Why has she been gone so long?
All choked up, I tried to answer her.

So, I picked her up and put her on my knee,
Her mother's eyes is all I could see,
And I explained to her the best I could:
Your mommy is gone up in the sky,
She's helping the angels keep an eye,
On little girls just like you.

Your mommy is gone to heaven with all the angels,
Helping little girls just like you;
She wanted you to know she is doing okay,
Your mommy is watching you every day.

Daddy, what does angels do?
Are they sitting here with me and you,
Or are they hiding in the corner?
She was four years old, but she was strong,
Daddy, Mommy did nothing wrong,
And then she hugged me so tightly.

As I watch her grow from day to day,
She's just like her mother in every way,
And it touches me so deeply;
I could almost hear the angels sing,
The preacher said that my mom has wings,
And then she looked at me, she smiled.

She said, my mommy's gone to heaven
with all the angels,
To watch over little girls just like me;
I know that she's okay
and she's watching me every day,
Don't you worry, Dad, we'll be okay.
I know that she's okay
and she's watching me every day,
So, don't you worry, Dad, we'll be okay.

FADING:
So, don't you worry, Dad, we'll be okay.
