Young Newfie Lady (The Driftwood Band) video

I'm a young Newfie lady who lives by the sea,
Grew up prim and proper in a big family;
Ten brothers, no sisters, I'm the youngest, you see,
So you better be careful if you come courting me.
I'm a young Newfie lady who lives by the sea.

There's a big fisher's gate, a hen house and barn,
And a woodshed where
neighbours gathered for a yarn;
On a big grassy meadow, in a two-storey home,
Where Grandma and Grandpa were never alone.

There's a bigger old blue house next to the sawmill,
Overlooking the harbour from up on the hill;
Through a window I'd watch as the boats went to sea,
Now I sit and daydream of those fond memories.

I'm a young Newfie lady who lives by the sea,
Grew up prim and proper in a big family;
Ten brothers, no sisters, I'm the youngest, you see,
So you better be careful if you come courting me.
I'm a young Newfie lady who lives by the sea.

This year I'll finish university,
I'm going back home with a doctor's degree;
God willing, I'll start my own family,
In my hometown down by the sea.

I'm a young Newfie lady who lives by the sea,
Grew up prim and proper in a big family;
Ten brothers, no sisters, I'm the youngest, you see,
So you better be careful if you come courting me.
I'm a young Newfie lady who lives by the sea.
