Everything's Changing (Gordon Caines) video

All the old stages are being torn down,
They're missing their windows and doors;
The floorboards are sagging,
And sounds like they're suffering,
From not being used anymore.
Everything's changing,
Our world's rearranging,
From a time that will soon be no more;
Makes us out of work fishermen wonder
just what's in store.

Just up straight and once painted rainbows,
and looked oh so fine;
Now paints out a picture of friends
in a long U-Haul line;
Our kids have all grown up and moved to the city,
And sometimes I feel haggard and old;
Where has a man who spent
all his life fishin' got to go?

The sea I once fished in and made a good living,
Now just a big empty space,
The last of our codfish are quickly being taken,
Pursued by the whole human race;
And it's not that I blame them
for taking our bounty,
I just wish we had taken it slow;
Where has a man who spent
all his life fishin' got to go?

All the old stages are being torn down,
They're missing their windows and doors;
The floorboards are sagging,
And sounds like they're suffering,
From not being used anymore.
Everything's changing,
Our world's rearranging,
From a time that will soon be no more;
Makes us out of work fishermen wonder
just what's in store.
Makes us out of work fishermen wonder
just what's in store.
