Well, I've seen many places in my life,
I've travelled from sea to sea;
But I always come back to the big land,
Oh, this is the life for me.

Our weekends are spent at the cabin,
Where good times can always be found;
Away from our troubles and worries,
The family and friends all around.

And the sun rises over the mountain,
It sparkles on snow covered trees;
Or the moon on the calm, still water,
Oh, this is the life for me.

In winter we go out ice fishin',
A boil up and a good cup of tea,
A pan of fresh trout and some flummies,
Oh, this is the life for me.

We travel up Grand Lake in springtime,
And head up for old Kenamu;
We'll stop in at North West Islands,
Go on to Mulligan, too.

And the sun rises over the mountain,
It sparkles on snow covered trees;
Or the moon on the calm, still water,
Oh, this is the life for me.
Oh, this is the life for me.
Oh, this is the life for me.

The Kenamu is a river in southern Labrador which flows into Lake Melville just below the Mealy Mountains.

Thirty-five miles east of Grand Bay lies a general area referred to as Mulligan, a thriving settlement until the mid 1950s. Today the area maintains its natural beauty but is home to just a few cabins.

Labrador has more than 269,000 square kilometers of area, therefore there are no disputes as to why it was coined the "big land". It is one of the last untamed, unspoiled places left on earth and stretches from the Strait of Belle Isle in the south, to Cape Chidley in the far north, boasting towering mountains, massive rock faces and an infinite supply of lakes and rivers, not to mention waters seasonally teeming with whales and icebergs. Here you'll find plenty of fresh air, crystal clear water and truly authentic people.
