Alone On The Quay (Navigators)

Sweet Molly goes to the ridge by the sea,
So lonely she calls all the day:
I am so full of sorrow, my heart has been wrecked,
And now I'm alone on the quay.

From Dark Island Cove her story begins,
It's a tale with a sorrowful end;
Her love fell with her sailor
who was handsome and fair,
And to her and love he was dead.

Sweet Molly goes to the ridge by the sea,
So lonely she calls all the day:
I am so full of sorrow, my heart has been wrecked,
And now I'm alone on the quay.

Moll married her sailor one fine August morning,
And built a grand house down the quay;
She bore him five children
and raised them quite well,
While her husband was far off away.

Sweet Molly goes to the ridge by the sea,
So lonely she calls all the day:
I am so full of sorrow, my heart has been wrecked,
And now I'm alone on the quay.

For nearly ten years they lived happy and free,
Till sadly one fierce Autumn day;
When the sea took her sailor from Dark Island Cove,
And left her alone on the quay.

Sweet Molly goes to the ridge by the sea,
So lonely she calls all the day:
I am so full of sorrow, my heart has been wrecked,
And now I'm alone on the quay.

Sweet Molly goes to the ridge by the sea,
So lonely she calls all the day:
I am so full of sorrow, my heart has been wrecked,
And now I'm alone on the quay.
