Lady From The Island (Con Parsons)

She's my lady from the island and I love her,
Her eyes like bluebells in the summertime;
She's the only girl I love, I'll not forget her,
And I'm loving her all over in my mind.

I left her long ago so broken-hearted,
She cried and begged me not to leave her so;
I told her I was seeking new employment,
But every day I'd love her more and more.

It's been fifteen years now since that day I left her,
I'm going home and there I'm gonna stay;
And ask that girl if she could just forgive me,
We could settle down and raise a family.

But when I reached her home, her father told me,
Three weeks ago today she passed away;
Well, God must need another star in heaven,
So he picked the brightest one that He could see.

Now there's nothing here for me
but pain and sorrow,
If only I could just turn back the time;
But the only girl I love is now in heaven,
And I'm loving her all over in my mind.

She's my lady from the island, and I love her,
Her eyes like bluebells in the summertime;
She's the only girl I love, I'll not forget her,
And I'm loving her all over in my mind.
Yes, I'm loving her all over in my mind.
