Those Summertime Hills (Roustabout)

My mind harkens back to those times in the past,
When the years passed so slowly
and the days went so fast;
I wished away my youth and longed to be a man,
And never gave a thought to those hills when I ran.

Oh, those summertime hills
where I roamed as a boy,
Once taken for granted now brings me such joy;
How I've longed to return to this place that I knew,
To live on those hills and grow old there with you.

When berries would ripen on those hills in the fall,
And colors would blaze, so grand to recall;
How winter would coat with its blanket of white,
No place like those hills could compare with that sight.

Oh, those summertime hills
where I roamed as a boy,
Once taken for granted now brings me such joy;
How I've longed to return to this place that I knew,
To live on those hills and grow old there with you.

When springtime would bloom new life to the land,
And smells of the new grass told summer's at hand;
Each year was the same in the fall, winter and spring,
Those summery hills take me back home again.

Oh, those summertime hills
where I roamed as a boy,
Once taken for granted now brings me such joy;
How I've longed to return to this place that I knew,
To live on those hills and grow old there with you.
