I got up in the mornin' at the crack of dawn,
I couldn't get no sleep;
Flippin' through the channels on the picture tube,
I found a show called Land And Sea.
Closed my eyes and looked again,
It was all about my home town;
Well, that was it, I had enough,
Now, boys, I'm Newfie bound.
I'm Newfie bound, I'm Newfie bound,
Lord, it's gonna be good to be back home;
I quit my job and I left the smog way back in Ontario,
But I thank the man in TV land for airing that Newfie show.
I was on the road the very next day,
Just driving in the morning sun;
Passed Montreal and Riviere du Loup,
Before my day was done.
I was chased all the way through ol' Quebec,
By a bunch of those Quebecois;
But I hit N.B. doing 115 saying,
Frenchie, au revoir!!!
I'm Newfie bound, I'm Newfie bound,
Lord, it's gonna be good to be back home;
I quit my job and I left the smog way back in Ontario,
But I thank the man in TV land for airing that Newfie show.
Down through New Brunswick and across Nova Scotia,
I was smilin' every mile;
When I got to the pier I had a beer,
Oh Christ, it's been awhile.
Now I'm on the boat and I can see Port aux Basque,
Good God, I'm home at last;
So I raise a toast up to the Rock,
And the rest can kiss my ass!!!
I'm Newfie bound, I'm Newfie bound,
Oh Lord, it's gonna be good to be back home;
I quit my job and I left the smog way back in Ontario,
But I thank the man in TV land for airing that Newfie show.
God bless the man in TV land for airing that Newfie show.
