Nights are blue, it's spring time once more,
And it joyfully caught me down by the sea shore,
With my sweet blue eyes so happy and free,
And tonight we will linger by the bright rolling sea.
My Newfoundland blue eyes, O' how I love you,
We'll always be happy, why should we be blue?
The moon will be shining with beauty galore,
As it did when I met you down by the sea shore.
Two eyes that keep sparkling like a bright morning dew,
A sweet smiling face, and a heart good and true,
Two arms that keep reaching for me night and day,
And a soft voice that echoes far over the bay.
Some day I will take her for a charming young bride,
We'll gather up shells at the fall of the tide;
We'll cherish fond memories we sweetly adore,
Of the night when we first met down by the sea shore.
My Newfoundland blue eyes, O' how I love you,
We'll always be happy, why should we be blue?
The moon will be shining with beauty galore,
As it did when I met you down by the sea shore.
The moon will be shining with beauty galore,
As it did when I met you down by the sea shore.
