I have roamed o'er the red rocks on many's a day,
In the snows of December and the fragrance of May,
In the morn's early beams, in the twilight, an' when
The brightness of moonlight enchanted each glen.
To meet with my Annie who lived with her grannie,
And sighed for her Danny in Freshwater Bay,
Where the pathway winds gently along by the sea,
Like a nymph of the blue wave she's waiting for me;
There she welcomes my coming with purest delight,
And delays our fond parting on Ennis' Height.
