Me name is Mrs. Nevilles, I live on the higher levels,
I've a store right in the house that I was born in;
And since "Commission" took a notion for to cross the briny ocean,
We must close our little store on Sunday mornin'.
With me bundle on me shoulder sure there's no one any bolder,
And I do adore the country I was born in.
"Arrah be gob," says Mrs. Hookey - "You'll be mighty, might lucky,
If you're not before Judge Brown on Monday mornin'."
There's a girl called Kate Malone whose got a small shop of her own,
And every thing she sells is really adornin'.
"And be gar," says Mrs. Whitty - "You can act so very pretty,
Leave me bologna on your doorstep Sunday mornin'."
With me bundle on me shoulder sure there's no one any bolder,
And I do adore the country I was born in.
"Arrah be gob," says Mrs. Hookey - "You'll be mighty, might lucky,
If you're not before Judge Brown on Monday mornin'."
There's a store in "Quiti Viti" which is stocked up very pretty,
With canned goods upon the shelves that is adornin';
And when Lar took up the papers he says - "Emily, look be japers!
We must close our little store on Sunday mornin'."
With me bundle on me shoulder sure there's no one any bolder,
And I do adore the country I was born in.
"Arrah be gob," says Mrs. Hookey - "You'll be mighty, might lucky,
If you're not before Judge Brown on Monday mornin'."

GEST notes: Japers is in Hiberno-English - also known as Irish English - the dialect of English spoken in Ireland, not a misspelling.
