Make the world go away,
Get it off of my shoulder;
Say the things you used to say,
And make the world go away.

Do you remember when you loved me,
Before the world took me astray?
If you do, then please forgive me,
And make the world go away.

Make the world go away,
Get it off of my shoulder;
Say the things you used to say,
And make the world go away.

I'm so sorry if I hurt you,
I'll make it up day by day;
Just say you love me like you used to,
And make the world go away.

Make the world go away,
Get it off of my shoulder;
Say the things you used to say,
And make the world go away.
Say the things you used to say,
And make the world go away.

Hank Cochran - was so inspired while on a date at a movie theater in 1960 that he had to leave the theater right away. By the time he reached home fifteen minutes later he had composed Make the World Go Away, a song Ray Price recorded and which reached #2 on the Billboard country charts in 1963. Eddy Arnold would make this song his signature hit in 1964, reaching #1 on the country charts and #6 on the overall Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1965 (his highest rated song ever).
