A northeast wind is blowin' free,
Snow is glistening on the tree;
The smell of wood smoke from the stove,
It's Christmas time out in the cove.
Coloured lights adorn the shore,
Christmas wreaths on all the doors;
Carols sung so sweet and clear,
Santa Claus will soon be here.
Bell Island ferry fights the sea,
Flickering lights from the Christmas tree;
Cars are lined up at the pier,
Taking gifts to loved ones there.
Christmas Day has finally come,
Church bells calling everyone;
Families go to kneel and pray,
Christ our Lord was born today.
The northeast wind is blowin' free,
Snow is glistening on the tree;
The smell of wood smoke from the stove,
It's Christmas time out in the cove.
