There is a little valley not far from Goose Bay,
To which we return at the end of each day;
It's not very pretty or noted for fame,
Happy Valley is what it is named.
The roads are so muddy in the spring of the year,
And in the summer the dust fills the air;
But still we are happy to be where we are,
For this little valley is in Labrador.
The Hamilton River flows right by our door,
It's one of the biggest in all Labrador;
You can swim in its waters or play on its sand,
And as for the kiddies they think it's quite grand.
What more could you ask for when the weather is fine,
To be in your boat with your rod, reel and line?
If you like winter sports then this is the place,
You can ski on its snow or skate on its ice.
You can travel by dog team and hunt caribou,
And if you like trapping you can do that, too;
So all of the places in this land you see,
There's none quite so beautiful as Happy Valley.
