Lot of happy faces when Friday comes around,
Half the population leaving our town;
Going to the cabin for some R and R,
You'll be surprised what they put in the car.

On Friday night it's a little laid back,
Gotta get the fire going, the car unpacked;
Beer in the cooler, steaks in the fridge,
Got a pot of mussels out on the bridge.

This must be the closest thing to heaven,
Life don't get much better than this;
Up at the cabin there's no time for nappin',
When you go home you can lay down and rest.

On Saturday it's the barbecue,
Corn beef and cabbage, even fish an' brewis;
Busy as a beaver, the wife never stops,
Washing the dishes, the pans and the pots.

Friends drop by every now and then,
Life's just a party at the cabin;
Hear the crackling of the fire everywhere you go,
Cabin party playing on the radio.

Saturday night everyone's alive,
Some stay up till four or five.

This must be the closest thing to heaven,
Life don't get much better than this;
Up at the cabin there's no time for nappin',
When you go home you can lay down and rest.

When the weekend's over, time to descend,
Back into town with the fog and the wind;
There's only one thing on everyone's mind,
Going back to the cabin for a good time.

This must be the closest thing to heaven,
Life don't get much better than this;
Up at the cabin there's no time for nappin',
When you go home you can lay down and rest.

When you go home you can lay down and rest.
