Last Of The Reasons (Roustabout)

I look o'er the mountain where the sun sears the sky,
And think of the days when I dreamed as a child;
I gather those memories in the sheaf of my mind,
And assemble a rose from the fragments of time.

The petals are the dreams that float on the breeze,
Of gentler times across gentler seas;
The stem is the long road I'd chosen to hike,
But you're the last of the reasons I walk out of night.

You're the last of the reasons why I carry on,
You're the last of the reasons, my siren of song;
Like a beautiful bouquet of flowers in spring,
You're the last of the reasons that make my heart sing.

I see your face shining in clouds dark and cold,
In every raindrop you're a sight to behold;
I can't help but wonder where I'd be today,
If not for your light to show me the way.

In storms and disasters your hand leads me on,
Your smile is the sunshine that brightens my every dawn;
With your soft warm embrace your touch heals my pain,
You're the last of the reasons why I live again.

You're the last of the reasons why I carry on,
You're the last of the reasons, my siren of song;
Like a beautiful bouquet of flowers in spring,
You're the last of the reasons that make my heart sing.
