I was on a trip away from home, and time was getting so long,
It seemed like many months ago that I said goodbye to her;
I was feeling lonely and longed for her to hold me in her arms,
And whisper to me that she loved me.
And going through some papers,I found a note addressed to me that read:
Remember your wife loves you when you're far away from home;
And she's always thinking of you, don't you ever feel alone.
That note meant so much to me that she would write a line of love,
Knowing I'd be lonely and missing her; a man's mind is a funny thing,
A doubted love can almost bring him to his knees, he needs to hear: I love you.
Then all his doubts will melt away, all because you took the time to say:
Remember your wife loves you when you're far away from home;
And she's always thinking of you, don't you ever feel alone.
She's always thinking of you, don't you ever feel alone.
