It's four in the morning, I'm standing on the corner,
Watching the world pass me by;
Go to the harbour, watch the boats in the water,
That's how I pass the time.
Living down here's not that easy,
Working hard for very little pay;
But I'll get by on God's good grace,
I'm just trying to make a living,
But this rock is a hard place.
Come Monday morning, back to the grind,
And I'm working my fingers to the bone;
It's only ten o'clock and I'm hours behind,
I wish my boss would just leave me alone.
Living down here's not that easy,
Working hard for very little pay;
But I'll get by on God's good grace,
I'm just trying to make a living,
But this rock is a hard place.
Yeah, living down here's not that easy,
Working hard for very little pay;
But I'll get by on God's good grace,
I'm just trying to make a living,
But this rock is a hard place.
I'm just trying to make a living,
But this rock is a hard place.
