My Uncle Don

While walking towards the motor boat,
I couldn't believe my eyes;
The bay looked big from up so close,
There wasn't a cloud in the sky.

We hopped inside and started her up,
This all was new to me;
I was used to travelling on the road,
Not like the men at sea.

The birds were guiding us overhead,
Treating us to a song,
As we came across the Bay of Islands,
Just me and my Uncle Don.

Never knew before how nice it was,
The smell of the bay so sweet;
Salt water mist from a gentle breeze,
Well, this was quite a treat.

The birds were guiding us overhead,
Treating us to a song,
As we came across the Bay of Islands,
Just me and my Uncle Don.
