The Place I Adore (Johnny Organ)

As I walk across the trail on a lovely May day,
I see the old ferry as she gets on her way;
I think of our island for it's home to me,
Our little island way out in the sea.

When summer comes around there's lots of things to do,
You can go for a swim in our new swimming pool;
You can play a game of baseball upon the ballfield,
Or go for a walk upon Man-O-War Hill.

Our little island out here in the sea,
Surrounded by water but so dear to me;
Where the people are friendly and that is for sure,
My Ramea Island, the place I adore.

There's lots of local talent right here in our town,
Come on, everybody, come gather around;
We play our music upon the rink, so relax and have a beer,
In our rock island festival we have every year.

Now the summer's almost over and the fall is on it's way,
Just get in your boat, boys, and steam across the bay;
Shoot a moose or a caribou, pick a berry or two,
But don't forget the rabbits to put in your stew.

Now wherever you roam or wherever you'll be,
Remember our island way out in the sea;
Where the people are friendly, they'll lend you a hand,
On our little island here in Newfoundland.

Our little island out here in the sea,
Surrounded by water but so dear to me;
Where the people are friendly and that is for sure,
My Ramea Island, the place I adore.
