Christmas is the hardest time
To be away from home,
To see the ones around you
How they decorate their own;
And to think of traditions
That no one near you knows,
Lets your mind slowly drift back
To the memories of home,
Where they're singing....
Silent night, holy night,
Sharing dreams by the firelight;
A thoughtful wish that you were here,
Maybe you'll return next year.
I remember Christmas time,
Walking through the cove,
Caroling together,
Keeping warm against the cold;
The sound of snow beneath your boots,
The night was crystal clear,
Gives a warm and gentle feeling,
You can share throughout the year.
And we're singing....
Silent night, holy night,
Sharing dreams by the firelight;
A thoughtful wish that you were here,
Maybe you'll return next year.
This is not the time
For sadness in our hearts,
Oh, the joy should ring as together we sing
As we hold our loved ones tight;
For a child was born to rid the world
Of sorrow and of pain,
And every Christmas Eve
His star lights up again.
And we're singing....
Silent night, holy night,
Sharing dreams by the firelight;
A thoughtful wish that you were here,
Maybe you'll return next year.
