My Seaport Town (Neal O'Leary)

When I first saw her, she nearly blew my mind.
"A visitor," she said,
"I come here from time to time."
I asked if I could show her around.
She jumped up, said, "Pretty boy,
Show me your home town."

My seaport town, my seaport town...

Well, I took her hand as proud as I could be,
And I asked what she liked. She stared at me.
My body went limp. My tongue, well, it froze.
I had a phenomenal feeling
From my head down to my toes.

My seaport town, my seaport town...

Well, I showed her places that I never been.
She didn't act surprised. She took it all in.
I tried to find out where she was from.
She totally ignored me,
"Now come on and have some fun!"

My seaport town, my seaport town...

As we walked, I said,
"Will you be visiting awhile?"
She caressed my cheek with a kiss and a smile.
She said, "I got something to tell you,
I think you should hear,
That your home town is my home town.
I just live over there."

My seaport town, my seaport town...

So, whenever you meet
a strange girl on the street,
Don't always believe what you hear.
Try to take it slow.

My seaport town, my seaport town...
