Till Early Mornin' (Buddy Wasisname)

Now, my day begins at eight
As I open up the gate
To inspect the land and fields of my father;
And when the day is through
I will sing out in the blue
And wait until I see them in the mornin'.

Now, each day is not the same
So there's no need to complain
For all the things that may go wrong
without any warning;
For all you have to do
Is to sing out in the blue
And wish a friend good day till early mornin'.

Now, my picket fence needs paint
And the weather it won't wait
For my chores to pass me by
while I'm a-wondering;
And while there is still light
I will lime it nice and white
And get me ready early for the mornin'.

Now, some days I like to fish
So I head off in my skiff
And the day is bright,
there's no need to worry;
And when the day is through
I will pay off my crew
And wait until I see them in the mornin'.

Now, when Sunday comes, me boys,
All me work and me joys are forever
Kept within me while I'm a-wondering;
And when the day is through
I will pray out in the blue
And hope I will see daylight in the mornin'.

Now, my final day has come
And my whole life's work been done
And my mind keeps on forever a-wondering;
For I know my day is through
I'm finished with the blue
So I wait for Him to take me home this-mornin'.
