Let The Gypsies Roll

Click Here for guitar tabs.

In old St. John's I got on a big old CN bus,
Bound for fame and fortune headed west;
Well I took some time to see this land, Lord, you know it's free,
And the treasures of it's beauty got to me.

And I landed in North Sydney on a boat from Port Aux Basque,
The first time I touched down on mainland soil;
The beginning of a journey now, lots of sites to see,
I laid back in New Brunswick for a while.

Then I moved on to PEI, down to Charlottetown,
The lifestyle was so laid back you could see;
And I spent some time in Montreal while travelin' across Quebec,
Met the kindest people you would ever see.

So, let the gypsies roll, let the gypsies roll,
Saddle up no matter where you go;
Bundled up or stripped down, mother nature lets you know,
Stick your thumb out in the wind and let the gypsies roll.

Welcome to Ontario, a sign said up ahead,
If your goin' south just take the four-o-one;
Well Toronto is 300 miles away from where we're at,
If we keep a-movin' we're gonna beat the sun.

And in Winnipeg I had it made, but I had to move on,
A-searchin' soul, I had more things to see;
And in Saskatoon we stopped a while, we had some things to do,
We spent the night and they put us up for free.

In Calgary I could see I was nearin' home,
Saw the stampede where the cowboys stole the show;
But something kept tellin' me I was comin' to the end,
In a country where we all feel free to grow.

On the docks out in Vancouver I could feel the cool salt air,
The ocean kept tearin' at my soul;
But the highway seemed to be the only freedom that I need,
I bid farewell and let the waters go.

So thank you all both great and small I met throughout this land,
I sure enjoyed your hospitality;
And from Newfoundland, well I feel grand, sure as out in the west,
I'm headed north, I got more things to see. (Come on.)

Let the gypsies roll, let the gypsies roll,
Just saddle up no matter where you go;
Bundled up or stripped down, mother nature lets you know,
Just stick your thumb out in the wind and let the gypsies roll.
